Low cholesterol diets, such as Japan and parts of the Caribbean, have lower levels of heart attack and stroke, according to the Health website.
The site added that there are a number of steps that reduce the proportion of cholesterol in the blood, including:
1 Eat foods containing dietary fiber found in beans and fruits and help to reduce cholesterol levels by about 5%.
2. Exercise: It reduces the risk of dying of a heart attack by 25% compared to any other treatment regimen. Physical activity is also an important part of any treatment regimen.
Low-fat diets: Choosing healthy foods such as fish and vegetables for red meat and fried potatoes reduces cholesterol by up to 20% in some people.
Eating fish: It is good for the heart especially that the healthy fats found in fish and fish oil can help reduce triglycerides in some people with very high levels of them.
