Autoimmune diseases occur when the immune system begins to attack healthy cells in the body, 80% of women with immune diseases and the proportion continues to rise, according to a report published by the American site "Tapoos."
The report also mentioned a number of facts related to autoimmune diseases that every woman should know, including the following:
1. Rheumatoid Arthritis:
The disease is caused by joint inflammatory symptoms throughout the body, including the hands, thighs, fingers and knees, and 4% of women are affected by this condition, one of the most prominent autoimmune diseases targeting women.
2. Red lupus:
Nine out of ten people with lupus are women, and the disease can damage the joints, skin, kidney, heart, lungs and other parts of the body.
3. Psoriasis:
Is a chronic condition that causes the growth of cells very quickly and may be the only disease of the immune diseases that occurs in men and women.
4. Arthritis of the psoriasis:
This type of inflammation usually affects the large joints, in severe cases cause pain and stiffness and swelling and this is one of the most prominent autoimmune diseases that can affect women.
5. Schugren syndrome:
In this case the immune system attacks the glands responsible for tears and saliva, leading to dry eye and mouth.
6. Hardening of the skin:
This condition is caused by the abnormal growth of collagen, as the skin becomes thick and inflexible, and is also an autoimmune disease that affects women significantly.
